After an amazing first year, the Nutcracker returns to the North East and promises to be even better than before
We have spent the winter building on the advice and comments of our riders. Without the support that you demonstrated last year, the series would not have been able to suceed. So here we are again. 4 races on 4 cracking courses. No forests this year, after all you can ride the trail centres anytime you like (hopefully).
Adey worked hard with the MOD in securing the Gandale range and bringing the ubiquitous NEMBA favourite back to the XC circuit. We have been busy getting the course ready for round 1 and the work is still ongoing. It looks amazing though and we are sure you will love it.
Aske returns due to popular demand and is going to be the test event for the British Cycling XC National Championships. The Nationals take place on the 16-17th July so round 2 of the Nutcracker XC Series will be a great chance to test the course before the big day.
Despite the awful weather and gloopy course at round 1 last year, Camp Hill proved itself to be a superb fast course in the summer. With bermy singletrack and dusty trails this is a cracking course for those who love to pedal. Its non stop and looks a lot harder than the topography might suggest.
And so the series wraps up at Swaledale. The most scenic and of course the most demanding of races, Swaledale is a true test of all-round riding skills. We are racing on a Saturday this year to enable us to hold and end of season party on the Saturday night with a big social ride on Sunday for all who care to join us. We have christened these the hangover rides! We will be based in the Dales Bike Centre and there will be plenty of camping available.
TheSweatmonsters
Our grass roots academy in partnership with British Cycling Go-Ride
The Sweatmonsters Academy is a skills training session held at each round of the Nutcracker XC Series. Its open to any child under the age of 12 who can ride a bike without stabalisers. The monsters will be taught various techniques and skills to improve riding before we have a couple of races. Entry is free and we have prizes for the winners. More...
TheMarshals
Calling all volunteers!
We simply couldn't run the Nutcracker without the army of volunteers we call upon. We try our best to make sure that we look after you at each event with plenty of food and drink, weather proof clothing if the weather is not playing ball and maybe a souvenier to take away.
If you would like to help out at a Nutcracker race please drop us a line and we will get back to you.
